Sweet Charity Fic 6 - Popslash
If you've been a friend/acquaintance/stranger who asked about my ipod in the last few years, you know I'm a popslash fan. (I'm sorry for those who didn't want to hear it. Again & Again!) A dear friend who knew I was really down introduced me to BSB at the lowest point in my life ... & because of that, I was alive to dragged her kicking & screaming into *NSYNC a couple years later. Hey, no good turn ... I've read every pairing over the years - although I must admit a addiction to Nick/Brian, Drewsome, Chris/Lance, Chris/Justin, Chris/Joey, Chris/Em, Lance/AJ, AJ/JC, JC/Justin, Howie/AJ, Nick Lachey/Jeff Timmons, etc. Hmmm, if Matthew wrote it, it seems I'm hooked to it. ****This is my obligatory warning --- Yes, I think Matthew Halderman Time is a god. Why aren't you reading him? Especially his original fiction, oh my! **** And while I've moved onto other fandoms - Stargate anything, SPN, Chuck, etc - I remember popslash with great fondness & the occasional foray back into popland when a named author sneaks out another story.
But Katie was different. I must admit, I won her & then didn't know what do to do with her. She was one of dozens I bid on, hoping I'd get one & I got 8. Whew! And had to come up with prompts for all of them - rather quickly. Wow! So I went over her list of fandoms, found popslash & decided to get a blast from the past. I asked for AJ/Chris 'cause Chris is my favorite & nobody really wrote the pair much. Then I forgot about it.
If you know your pop history, anything that starts with Chris once had a torrid affair with AJ, and it was all Howie's fault has got to make you grin. But I grinned thru the entire story. It just so plausible & real. I could feel Chris especially & understand how this happened. And the last line - well, it's a kicker. (G) These days I'm working my way through Katie's LJ 'cause any fic that makes me feel this good is an author I want to keep around. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Don't forget to write the author praise.
