From the moment it began the WMC Virtual Season took us on one mind-blowing ride after another. Now, thanks to the generosity of the  VS crew, we get to have a look at the inner workings of the Virtual Season and how each episode came together

But first one crucial question must be asked.

Will there be a third season? )

great stories behind the success of wmc-vs waynesomnia February 21 2009, 12:36:14 UTC
This interview was terrific. It's just like those extra features you get on DVDs. Thank you all for giving the fans what they were so desperately searching for.

I came to the television series without having read any James Patterson fiction. I came to see a show about a group of strong, intelligent women, at work, at home, and at play. I came to see what I hoped would be terrific stories told about relationships within an ensemble cast. Yes, there would be the crime of the week to keep the story going in one direction, but my focus was always on what held this group of women together. I came to watch a club. Murder is intriguing, but stories told about great friendships is the stuff perfect ensemble-cast tv shows are made of.

Well, the tv show kept me interested, but left me wanting. With such a great premise and a wonderful cast, I was surprised to see this series canceled. I was happy to see a ton of fanfic appear out of this failed tv show. I came to this fandom for reasons that have been mentioned by many others; I was interested in the premise but disappointed by the powers that be on the network show. I wasn't new to fanfic, but I was definitely new to something called "virtual season" fanfic. I thought to myself, "My God! This is perfect. People invested in the best part of this fandom have come together to continue the 'tv series' and do it the way it should have been done in the first place."

Thirteen virtual season episodes later, I can honestly say that all of my hopes and expectations have been superlatively exceeded. I was a lurker, but this wmc-vs crew has sold me on leaving comments. I have so little to lose and so much to gain by simply telling them that I enjoyed reading their work.

I definitely enjoyed what I read.

Peace, Wayne.
