The end of one dynasty, and the start of another

When I heard that US Forces had captured "an elderly man with a long white beard" this morning, I had to enquire whether said gentleman had a long red coat and was accompanied by reindeer.

ITV presented a Suchet Bros double-bill this evening, with David entertaining as Poirot, followed by John with the news. Apparently the scheming young rich woman did it when the dead guy refused to leave his wife for her - what an original plot. The biggest surprise was that the elderly spinster who had been the governess hadn't worked it out at the time.

But it was entertaining nonetheless, and in particular was livened up by Mr Kipling's "Nativity Play" advert, which I commend everyone to watch out for. It is exceedingly good.
