Is it wrong to get choked up when you think about losing an Online friend? Someone you have never really met but have spent a HUGE amount of time with over the years?

Thats how I am feeling right now. I just found out a very very long time online friend is going to be dropping off the internet for a very long time/possibly forever and I am kinda upset. Her name is Sherry and I have known her for a VERY long time. Since Diablo 2 and warcraft 3 on battlenet. She is currently in my WoW Guild but is leaving her account to Further her Career in Singapore.

Sherry always seems cold to people when you don't know her. She has a wicked sense of humour and she dosen't take crap from anyone. But I can't help but admire and like her. I read it on the GoD forums but it didn't really hit me until i got a note in game. She sent me some gold from her char and said it was a great 7 or whatever years and that she would miss me and try and contact me when she could and she loved me and wished me the best. I got choked up. When I decided to play WoW and stop CoH it was Sherry that convinced me to play on Eonar and to play WoW. So in essence All the fun i have had in WoW is because of her. I am really going to miss her. I hope she just goes away for a while and comes back but I doubt it. I think it may be quite a while before I see her again. I already Miss her

Funny how we work like that? How a person i have never even met can effect so much how I feel. Whoever says its just a video game hasn't had a friend leave them after being able to lean on and trust them for 7 years.
