Okay. When I became involved in fandom, RPS was hidden away. It was almost impossible to find. And if you wanted it, and searched for it, and read it, you were doomed to that Special Hell (that Rhi talks about in her authors notes) designed for those lowly despicable creatures who actually wanted to read fictionalized accounts of Gale and Randy and maybe, just for a while, imagine them together. For reals. The horror!
Then Rhi posted this story. It wasn't hidden away. And if memory serves, it was the first thing she posted in fandom -- before she even wrote any QaF fic. But most importantly, it was fucking amazing. Like the best Brian/Justin moments, this Gale/Randy isn't about sex -- it is about finding the truth, taking chances, coming to terms with who you are and what you can become. So beautifully done.
