Wow, that was really powerful and quite difficult to read. Really close to the edge stuff. I don't know if enjoyed is the right word to use, but it was good, very good.

Thank you, first of all. :) I wanted to try something new, something that would get a little deeper into Brian's head while I could still be in the position of the narrator. "Powerful" though is exactly what I wanted.

Me neither. Seriously, I'm usually the first one to shout that Brian would never handle anyone he loves even remotely violently. But, for my own justification, I thought very long about when exactly Brian started to actually love Justin and that, altogether, Brian is not a stable human being, especially in S1. That's why I believe that in this moment, when Justin wouldn't leave even though he asked him to, mixed up with his negative emotions, alcohol and the nearing loss of his father, Brian could have slipped and reacted this way.

That's intense. Brian is so f*cked up. But we love him anyway. Justin wouldn't have stand for that kind of treatment in later seasons. Wonderful Brian's POV. Great writing!

I think he wouldn't have stood that kind of treatment as early as 120 and that Brian never would have done something like this after 122 - that's why the 115 gapfiller came in so handy. *grins*

But we love him anyway.

I think that this is the key point, actually. Not only we love him anyway, but Justin does, too. It's part of Brian being Brian. Even Zen Ben can flip out, and Brian's not nearly as stable as him (even though I admit that I carried it to the extremes).

Wonderful Brian's POV.

Thank you so much! That was such an important thing for me to accomplish!

That's why everybody loves him (besides his looks, the charme, the asshole-attitude... ;))!

This fic was difficult to read, but had some elements of truth that I would like to point out.Everything is pulling at Brian’s nerves. He has hardly ever felt as drunk, as meritless, as ashamed and angry as right now, and these are the times that he hides. Takes it out on a trick. Drinks himself into stupor. Definitely stays away from Justin, because the only thing he fears more than someone hurting Justin is hurting Justin himself.

Do you mind if I ask whether it was difficult to read because of the action or of the style it was written in (or both)? I'm always eager to learn, although I think that it was necessary for this fic to be read only with difficulties.

And you pointed out my second favourite line. ...because the only thing he fears more than someone hurting Justin is hurting Justin himself. Thank you so much for your feedback!

The writing was excellent. The stream of consciousness voice was perfect for this fic. What made it difficult for me is that I disagreed with Brian hurting Justin sexually. I personally would think at this time period, Justin being 17, Brian would have pushed him bodily out the door and found a trick before he would have used him like that. The funny thing is that while I agreed specifically with the line I quoted, but also this Justin is so ignorantly sweet, so dangerously untaught and I feel you have good insight into both characters i still can't see Brian doing what you have him doing. This is probably just me. You do have a very powerful piece here and I hope to see much more of your writing.

I think you have a valid point. I'm not sure what Brian would have done, actually, but I wanted to find out if I could make him believable; if the readers would understand him.
Thank you for your kind words. :) If you continune reading the challenges or check back to my LJ from time to time, you will see more of me.
