Diary 23rd December, this year 2006

Dec 23, 2006 18:20

The furore of the festive season is upon the household. I have eschewed the Mistress for the rigours of Mother instead, I cannot discern which may be worse. With all the chores one must endure here, there is never a respite. The relatives joined Mother on thursday and I admit to fleeing the domicile for the nearest hostelry, which was a prudent choice since the visit involved children !
Delightfully though, beautiful parcels have been arriving from varied and disparate locations, all welcomed with utmost respect - for the parcellers and the workforce in the mail institutions. The best part of the 'winterval' is that there are so many bright and shining lights delicately balanced in windows and it gives me such pleasure, heightened by the atmospheric fog. There are also other delights including the large picture house showing all the best films, the theatre where I took Mother to see the Three Muskateers and the joyous fun in seeing and being reacquainted with friends.
May the same be said for one and all!
