Mistress has been sedulously pursuing her social life, while I remain to pick up the pieces and resolve to emancipate myself from such toil. Current inebriation foils most attempts however.
This may be consequent to the task set yesterday which involved the necessitous bringing out of the dead. It is a preoccupation which I find I can undertake in a manner sine cortice natare, which in itself is always cause for alarm.
Thus while the cathedral bells toll I must endure the humdrum activities of an interminable tuesday. They are the worst day of the week, neither the beginning nor the end.
