I had a cool dream about a (fictional) series of movies called the Mechxer series.
Mechxer was a Japanese-made live-action series about advanced vehicles that'd go in response to disasters. While I was sitting in Mechxer control (where everyone but me and my friend, who was Japanese, was speaking in subtitled Japanese), a friend told me it was planned as a series of five but only three were made, the first two were fairly pedestrian, but the third one was crazy enough for Mechxer 3-5 combined!
At first I thought he was speaking hyperbolically about the quality, but then I saw the Xer deployment rocket being rolled out onto the field with X units 3, 4, and 5 all in it, who were capable of combining!
A giant monster was attacking a metropolis so the Xers were sent to deal with it (which my friend and I watched eagerly). The three X units combined into a humanoid mecha with moth-like features (wings, eyes).
It fought ferociously but it started to have overheating problems. We looked at the buttons that indicated whether the cooling systems were being active, which all were labeled with fast food items (burgers, fries, shake, etc.), and some of them were flashing, but only individually, and things looked bleak.
"They don't realize you can activate more than one at a time! They're going to lose!"
"No, wait, the crew's Canadian! They might figure it out!"
Cut to the inside, and the combined cockpit looks like the counter at a fast food place with buttons on it. Two of the crew (one white and one black) were hugging, and I was afraid it was because they had given up, but no, they were just doing it in preparation for a highly risky move- unleashing the Xer units ultimate weapon!
(The hugging was just because they were Canadian and thus very friendly)
And that's where the dream ends
