So Life Goes...
From Thursday...
There's been loads of drama at work, all about a birthday party. It's kinda dumb. I'm trying to stay out of it, for the most part, besides wanting to be part of the fun (whatever it turns out to be).
We have new recursive training to do, and I'm practically the only free trainer, so I'm back to training, off "the phones" (so to speak). Yay!
I had a meeting yesterday with my training manager, to do a review of observations she'd made. (The actual observations were made in June, when I was just filling in for another trainer for a few hours, and it was my first time...) Anyway, most of the feedback was pretty positive, and the criticisms were actually really constructive!
I've heard back about my application, and they are considering me, but they've also re-posted the job opening, with slightly different criteria -- it looks like they're trying to find more applicants. Now, the HR side of me recognizes that it's better to have a wider pool of applicants from which to choose in order to increase your changes of choosing the best person. But on the other hand, if they're re-posting, it gives the impression the applicants they do have (including me) aren't good enough, and so why are they strinin' us along?
Since then...
My right heel spur's become inflamed, so I've been trying to stay off my feet. Looking back, there were some warning signs, but I didn't recognize them, 'cause it's fairly new malady...
Saturday was loads of fun, though. Dinner was yummy, drinks were yummy, company was great. We were at Ricki Jo's, then London Arms (where Dana & I lost our karaoke virginities together, thanks to Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls"!), then we hung out at Port D a bit. It's been a long time since I had a great night that lasted till morning -- twas awesomeness.
Did you know there are apparently over 600 varities of carrots?!?! Pretty cool, huh?
Also, watching the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics makes me wanna watch "Mulan"... *lol* I'm also wondering if they employed the entire million plus population, 'cause holy hell are there are lot of dancers/singers/acrobats/etc. involved in this ceremony!
Anyway, looks like Dana & I may be sharing a place after all, but maybe not till Oct/Nov. Things did not so much work out with her other friend, mostly 'cause they don't actually want the same things in an apartment... Problem is that the place she's at now is only for the summer, so she'd be kinda just floating around for Sept betwen my place and her b/f's... But I'll be gone the week Sept. 13-21, so I've told her she's welcome to crash here with the place to herself, and that's for at least a quarter of the time, so I'm hoping that'll help.
My parents are comin' to visit this Fri/Sat and I'm vair excited! We're going to the Winona Peach Festival, which is also vair exciting! (I'm prob not making it to the CNE this year, because I don't so much have time to go, no matter how much I may wanna.)
Anyway, I've got a few things to finish up before going to bed, which I should probably do kinda soon, since I do have work in da mornin'.
Note to self: Do laundry Monday/Tuesday!
