That was the whitest crowd I've ever seen (by which I mean appearing to be basically vanilla British Isles originated stock). We live in an area full of Vietnamese, Chinese, Indians, Greeks, Polish, Sudanese. Then the central city itself is almost more Asian than anything else at night. To go to work I drive through two other Vietnamese enclaves. So it'd seem to me that if you randomly filled a theatre with Melbournians, you'd get a pretty diverse crowd. We spotted three people in the whole packed theatre that were not white. It felt pretty bizarre, almost like we were engaged in some ethnic cultural activity, which we tend not to think of ourselves doing. Don't know what it means, no particular importance attached to it (so why post?), just something that stood out a bit, add to the "Things White People Like" file or something.
