It's snowing like mad here. I love the snow; it fascinates me, yet I am just a poor Georgia boy!! If this were Georgia, everything would be shut down. Nobody would be outside. Schools would be closed. All of the bread and milk would be gone out of the grocery stores, since when it snows in Georgia, everybody gets this insatiable craving for bread and milk. I still don't know why. My point is, I don't know how to actually function in the snow! I had to drive in the snow on Saturday morning when I went to Salt Lake to see Spencer's wedding. That was basically my first experience driving in snow, and it was on I-15. It was practically a whiteout. The snow was coming down pretty hard. This morning, I had to drive in the snow and ice even more, and it is very new for me. I love the snow, though, so I like this.
I had a fun vacation. On Friday, after I left the Eurich's, I met my Great Uncle Hugh. He is a very interesting character. I like him. He is definitely my grandmother's brother. I had some pumpkin pie there and then left for Provo. I drove nonstop from St George for 260 miles to Provo. I only stopped on University Avenue, about a mile from my apartment. After I got back, I hung out with Camila. Because of a weird bet/dare thing we came up with while we were talking on Wednesday, she agreed to wear this funny cowgirl hat feem all night with the condition that she could have her way with my hair. She brought out this toxic mud gunk which petrifies your hair within 4 minutes of contact. She just did all kinds of weird stuff to my hair, though it was too short for her to do an Elvis hairdo, which was her original intention. After that, we went and got some creme-filled Krispey Kreme doughnuts, a favorite of ours. After that, we went to Rock Canyon Park. We went there to see the stars and stuff, but 'twas pretty overcast. Actually, right when we got there, it started snowing a tad bit, which was fun. It wasn't much, though, since we could still lay down on the grass without getting wet. We went into the middle of this big soccer field and bundled up in sleeping bags. We talked about all kinds of things, and we even did manage to see some stars once in a while. We were there for like four hours. We returned to her apartment where we had hot chocolate. I went to bed around 2:30 and woke up 5:30 Saturday.
On Saturday, I gave a ride to Lili to drop her off in Draper, UT which is between Provo and SLC. As I said, it was my first experience driving in the snow, and it was scarrrry. I saw Spencer's wedding, and it was a really cool experience. We ate Olive Garden after, and then I drove back to Provo. In Provo, I fought with my computer for a couple hours. It's as if my computer were raped. Seriously, it is messed up. I am going to reformat the hard drive when I get the time. It is a pure miracle that I am able to be on the internet right now. It took me like 25 minutes to do it. That's not good. So after I did that, I went to Camila's apartment again were I ate ravioli (the same ting I had for lunch) with CAmila and her mother. I think she made it, too. Anyway, it gave me a great chance to practice my Portuguese! I tried speaking it the whole time I was with both of them. I accompanied them to some stores including some Peruvian place filled with Brasilian products. Afterwards, we dropped off her mom, and I went to help Camila move stuff, since she is mving out of our apartments into a town home onthe other side of PRovo. We did a few runs, and then I suggested we go to the park near her house to swing in the park. It was about 13 degrees outside, by the way. We went ther ebut the park was closed, so Camila got the crzii idea to go to Provo Canyon and go up on the mountain. I had never been there before, and it was absoutely amazing. It was so beautiful. The sky was clear, and I saw more stars than I had seen in a looooong time. It was breathtaking. Everything was light, though there was no natural light, or even moonlight! The snow reflected the little light that shone from the stars. We stayed there for over an hour. After that, we started back to her car but got into a snowball fight all of the sudden. We didnt have gloves on, so our hands froze! It was worth it, though. We enjoyed it. We were so cold and wet that we decided tog o ahead and make snow angels too! We did that and then RAN back to the car. My hands were colder than they have ever been. They hurt sooooo bad. It was all in good fun, though. We went back to her apartment and had a mix of hot chocolate, mint tea, and Brasilian postum. 'Twas interesting mix. I hung out with her until I got kicked out because of BYU curfew (you can only be in the apartment of a member of the opposite sex until a certain hour of the night.)
Had a good day yesterday, too.
