Lucius as Fallen Angel is an image I should contemplate a bit more. ;) Mm, very seductive.

Love the progression, and "bone-deep contentment" is something I always want to see in fics with Hermione. What more could we give him? The man's never had a moment of true contentment in his life.

Thank you, Lula! I'm not terribly happy with this. I wrote it in a damned hurry, and it is completely different 'on paper' from what was in my head. But at least I wrote something. I really need to get into the habit of regular writing, even if it is crap.

This happens to me nearly even time I sit down to write. I wish I knew the key to getting your image exactly from brain to page.

This is really lovely. Apart from the perfect ending, I particularly like the progression of Snape's attitude towards Dumbledore's initially unwelcome intrusions into his solitude. Utterly believable.

Thank you so much. Prior to DH, I had hoped that Snape and Dumbledore had developed this close friendship over time and that Dumbledore had been a mentor of sorts to Snape. DH crushed all of that, obviously. ;-)

Thanks, Dicky. You are too kind. I personally think it's a bit crap. I need a ruthless beta who will mercilessly cut out all the purple prose. But this was written literally at the last minute, so I'd didn't have time to get you to check it over.
