Now I have always handwaved away Tchaikovsky's talents as "that dude who wrote all those ballets" and not given his works a second glance. Having just caught the Proms on BBC4 tonight, I've been proven wrong. The pieces Variations on a Rococo Theme (with a superb cellist) and Francesca da Rimini are just sublime! They even inspired me to invent a new recipe for dinner tonight :-)
In other news, my physio came today and bemoaned the state of my neck and back muscles. Worked his mojo for an hour and was left in a state of bliss, but then I ruined it all by going grocery shopping and lugging home a tonne of food. I know, my bad. *slaps own wrist* I had good intentions, really I did. I even woke up early so I could finish the shopping before my physio was due to visit, but RL decided to kick me in the arse when my stupid smoke detector began beeping in the middle of last night. I called the concierge service this morning and was told that engineers would be at my place in 15 minutes. Needless to say, there was no sign of them even three hours later, when my physio arrived. Miraculously, the beeping had stopped by then, and *fingers crossed* continues to remain silent.
