more things.

Someone was kind enough to post the new modest mouse EP or whatever it is, and the second song on it is SO GOOD.

The track is called Whale Song. It opens with an amazing three minute instrumental, and then it just sort of jumps in. It reminds me a lot of the way The Moon and Antarctica sounds and feels. The vocals are layered over other vocals and as they intertwine they become more and more desperate, or maybe it's not desperation but a sense of urgency.

I haven't liked a song this much upon first listen in a long time. Apparently it was supposed to go on We Were Dead, but didn't make the cut for whatever reason.

Track one's so-so.

I'm getting antsy waiting for Thursday. I get to go to my appointment, which is good for multiple reasons. I get to leave the house where I've been for the past two weeks, so I'm pretty pumped about that. I will get to see my brother and Aaron and maybe my roommate David if he's home. I'm sure I've got mail that I need to check on, too.

Robert and Teara came by again, as did Basil and Jackie. My dad's been by several times. He brought me a tropical smoothie last time, and it was pretty tasty. I'm glad that I have friends and family in town.

I talked to Savannah for the first time in like... I don't know six months or more. Probably longer. It was short, but alright.

I finished reading "Women" and was pretty entertained by it. There are some gems in it, but I didn't like it as much as I liked "Post Office" but it still made me laugh and groan. I'm about to dive back into "On the Road" again, because I'm doing the opposite and it'll be a nice escape. The version that I bought is the original scroll, so it's unedited and more frantic and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the madness unfold again. I'm also simultaneously reading and watching the Harry Potter series, and I'm starting to enjoy it. The books become more mature as they progress, which is obvious since the kids are getting older. Also, there's more at stake for the characters and that's making things more interesting.

The third movie is kind of terrible now that I've read the book.
