German Communication with House: Awkward at best
First off, I would like to admit, that even in English I tend to not pay attention to other people when i am doing an activity, so when they talk I take a second to hear them. In Germany it just looks like I still have no idea what they are saying. Or if they go really fast for a couple of seconds and i am trying to process but they want the answer too fast... I simply look a little dumb here.
I don't like feeling dumb. I am a person that likes to hide behind my "smart" persona, I like being the one with answers and pretending I am in control and know a lot. Here I just look blank because my communication skills are close to zero. I have to get better with this.
I think i am going to make "American Cookies" this week for my house (those not in the know, American cookies happen to also go by chocolate chip) Easy, simple, yummy and perfectly effective as an excuse to talk to the cute boy I discovered on the first floor.
