I posted this on KnY but thought I'd post it here, too; I just can't believe this... I was online the other day looking for info about the YGO uncut DVDs, when I found this article. Here's a snippet:

Due to unforeseen protest from a small but persistent faction of consumers, release of uncut DVDs of the popular series Yu-Gi-Oh! will be postponed for several months, perhaps indefinitely. Concerns have been voiced priorly about the degree of violence in the earlier DVDs, much of which had been edited in the Kids' WB version of the program. However, these latest protests have come as a surprise to many, in that the major objection is "homosexual content" in the series.

"This show is supposed to be for children!" voices Brenda Macready, mother of three. "And I watch this cartoon and see boys holding hands, sharing a bed; who knows what will come next?" [The "sharing a bed" comment likely refers to the main character, Yugi Motou, and the dark spirit, Yami Yugi, who resides in his body. It is uncertain what Ms. Macready means by the characters holding hands.]

"I just don't understand it!" refutes George Keeton, media representative for 4Kids. "This show has never been homosexual! Just because there aren't many female characters doesn't mean the show is inappropriate for children."

It is still uncertain what caused this sudden outcry - perhaps the popularity of movies like the Academy Award-nominated Brokeback Mountain have heightened the public's awareness of homosexuality. Either way, these protestors have succeeded in at least delaying the release of the DVDs until further notice. Additional information will be released at a later date.

....I just don't know what to say about this...
