It certainly helps in my case; I do write a lot of Australia!fic, so this will definitely help gauge his characterization a little bit better, since uhm, there isn't exactly one in the first place. It's definitely risky - playing something by ear and not waiting for any canon material - but when you love a character, you just gotta write him! ;P

To be objectively fair, Himaruya did give us little snippets here and there of his character. It can be inferred from Wy's profile that he's pretty much generous, and fun/freedom loving - but for his mannerisms and quirks and flaws, we got next to nothing. ||OTL I just go with RL!experience with Australians and you guys are beautiful people, man.

Hahahaha, actually I'm an American! But I married an Australian and I live in Australia now. But it's a great country. So long as you keep Aussie's totally relaxed-about-everything attitude and his secret hyper dickishness, I support Oz-tan. XD

Ohohoho, my attempts on characterization and headcanon is totally based on those premises you mentioned. That's why I like him so much. ♥
Lol at the dickishness part. For me, that's what distinguishes Australia from America. Normally, people see Oz as a watered-down America, but I believe he has the occasional dirty, below-the-belt brand of snark and level-headedness which differentiates him.
