Sophie Scholll...I will google her after I type this, but I say go for it! Unfortunately, schools do a lot to propigate the "ZOMG GERMAN NAZIS" mentality, since we never really learn anything more about them other than WWII. It is le shame.

Is there any way to get a little streaming thingy at the bottom of my Firefox window or something, that'll just tell me when people tweet and give me the little box thing to type in? Going to the site all the time seems like a huge overinvestment of effort.

I don't think so, but there's a way to have certain people's tweets show up on your phone. Then again, I wouldn't reccomend it; your inbox fills up pretty quickly, even if it's only a couple people...

Sorry to hijack but there's a couple things you can use to stream. You can use Seesmic, which runs in a separate tab in the browser or you can use it like a desktop program, or there is Echofon, which is an add-on for Firefox that hangs out on your toolbar and let's you see and reply to other people that way.
