Well, I had the marathon two hour interview today: I can safely declare that there's no danger of me getting it!
They're after someone with lots of experience in many roles, who is an innovator and will work independently in the job. That's fine, but in all honesty I'm not the person they're after. I'm sure that the person they hire will have much more work history and be more experienced in teaching physics. In the next two weeks they're creating a short short list of two people, and then those two will be asked to make a presentation to the department. That sounds kinda scary...
I'm actually quite fine with all this. Part of me didn't want the job anyway, as working full-time this year would have been really crazy with juggling the kids. I have plans for my sewing for the year, and realistically I'd rather have a job that's only three days per week.
It's all good :)
