As you all know, I've had... sketchy... paid employment over the last seven years. It's not been such a problem from a financial point of view, however I feel like my brane has gone to mush over that time.
I was poking around on the net today, honestly looking for something completely different, and came across a job. It's a perfect job for me, I just know I can do it, and do it well.
Job There are a few problems though. While I know I can do all the things listed (or learn them quickly), I don't necessarily have demonstrable experience of, for example, managing 40+ people. Being a Concert Manager is the closest experience I can think of.
My other problem, of course, is that Embie is still a kinder kid this year, and so I would have to find alternative care for her if I were to gain full-time employment. This is a year ahead of schedule, damn it!
I had worked out that this year would be full of sewing, but now I'm so very much in *wants* mode. I can do it, it's so perfect for me. Also, full-time, ongoing at Monash Uni are really good conditions.
*sigh*
And speaking of sewing, I've had to borrow my mother's sewing machine while mine is being fixed. It's the same brand as mine, but 40 years younger. It's a piece of shit and I hate it. It is temperamental and keeps screwing up the bobbin thread, so I can sew for about 5 mins fine, and then have to rip out anything after that. Aaargh, it sucks! I hope my dear old machine is happy and healthy again soon.
