Back from MOON SAGA no.2

Jul 27, 2012 23:54

If I ever have to have psychotherapy and I'm asked to chose a happy place to return to when the therapy gets too tough, I'm going to chose a live hall/theatre/whatever where I'm close enough to smell the Platinum Egoiste wafting off GACKT.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

gackt, major fangirling squeeness, oooh pretty

Are you new to the fandom, lol? There's nothing wrong with that, it's just that GACKT bathing in PE is one of the most identifying things about him XD

I've been to MOON SAGA twice and will go again in September.

Yeah, I'm pretty new, as in less than a year. but i've already acquired MOST of his music. He has quickly become the biggest music obsession I have ever had in my life. And I am a professional musician, and avid music fan/concert-goer...I mean music is my LIFE...But this thing with Gackt and his music; this is all-consuming.

I blame Haruko, lmao. (csg_dear4life) I met her back in the fall and she introduced me to G. It was ALL OVER from there.

As for Platinum Egoiste, I don't think I've ever smelled that one before. I am a perfume whore (my collection is kinda ridiculous). And now you've got me curious! O.o

So really could *smell* him when he walked on stage?!?!?!? YIKES! What does he shower in the stuff??? (That's a little overboard, there G-san!) either that or you were in the first few rows. lol

Anyway, you are one lucky lady! I, being stuck in the OTHER hemispere, would have to spend thousands of $ just to come over there to SEE a show. I'm living in the wrong damn country. lol

It's good to be new! It's a treasure trove of lives, TV appearances and craziness to discover.

http://www.gackt.com/jp-h/profile/index.html - it says that if you pass by GACKT, you can still smell him for 2-3 days, lol.

I was seventh row for this play, but I've been able to smell him on a few other occasions too.

Living in the wrong country is no barrier. I lived in England when he was touring with RRII, so I came to Tokyo for the final two shows (he'd never been to Europe at that point and I was tired of waiting). I went to Europe last year to see YFCz too.

Hehe! absolutely. seventh row is pretty awesome! I have already pretty much acquired most of his studio albums, EPs, etc...through YFCz. The only studio album i don't have is REborn. I even found "Merveilles" :) I have seen almost all the concerts, except 6D7N and the FIRST RR. I've done my research in the last 6-9 months. ^__~ I've been working on the platinum box sets and a lot of his TV appearances too. YouTube is a glorious thing. Esp for his PVs and such. I have watched Bunraku and Moon Child numerous times already and caught a cpl eps of the drama he was in and watched numerous documentaries. I have been sure to make up for what I have been missing out on... LOL ( ... )

I've been lucky enough to be in the first and third rows before, so I can't complain at seventh for this. The Platinum Boxes became a lot of fun from VII onwards, when they started doing things instead of just showing backstage clips. It really helps you come to love the band too. The boxes themselves are really nice and always have cool gifts inside them.

You don't need to understand GACKT interviews to enjoy them. The crazy usually just jumps right out of the screen.

Hmm, things like his perfume are the kind of thing that people who have been fans for longer just automatically assume that everyone knows, because it's just so him. Never stop to think that maybe it isn't talked about as much as we think it is!

I wish they'd put the making-ofs back on the PBs, not as a mail-in extra that faithful foreigners can't get...

I always enjoy his interviews, even when someone hasn't provided a summary ^_^

I have the Making Ofs for UNTIL THE LAST DAY and ALL MY LOVE and they're nowhere near as much fun as the Platinum Boxes are. If it's a choice between Kaicho and the senpais being crazy somewhere or seeing the Making Of DVDs, I'm choosing Kaicho.

I like Kaicho and the senpais too, but it doesn't have to be either/or. Capabilities exist to put more than 90 minutes on a disc without losing quality.

I think they should put the making-ofs on the next Greatest Filmography collection they do... Though, there probably won't be one considering all the things that have changed since he switched to Avex...

Even before the move to Avex, they'd stopped doing it. And as the Platinum Boxes aren't on the Avex label but are still produced by DEARS, it may be that he can't put the Making Ofs on there anyway.

Avex may not even be able to do a PV collection as they may not even have the rights to any PVs/footage prior to EVER as that was all either Nippon Crown or DEARS (and as the official Nippon Crown YouTube has all of the later PVs up to FLOWER uploaded I'd guess Avex don't have the rights). It's only since the move to Avex that the Making Ofs have started to surface at all again.

It's a lot more complicated than what can fit onto a DVD.

Yes, I know there are ridiculously complicated rights issues, but the Japanese also have a tendency to not put more than 60-90 minutes on a DVD when Funimation (an American anime company) crams 2.5 hours of Kuroshitsuji and Fruits Basket on a disc.

The could even put it on the PV disc. Oh wait, it's probably not even started by the release date anyway since it takes 6 months to get mailed out...

A ha ha ha! This is a great thread - welcome to the world of wonderful insanity which is called Gackt. Of course, Platinum Egoiste is pour homme but I do wonder if the Gackt effect means that more is sold to girls than to men!

If I had money to blow, I could envision myself buying some PE and spraying it on my husband...so he would smell like Gackt. HAH! He's not the heavy cologne type, so that's absolutely hilarious to me. But I'd at least spray my pillows for some sweet dreams!!! ^_~ *SIIIGH* Maybe I just need to make a trip to Macy's..LMAO. I'd come home with a the test strip in a sealed baggie. True STory.
