The best part of Kathryn Bigelow winning tonight for best director and best picture (besides me seeing her perform at
Point Break Live!! last weekend -- omg I was so starstruck) was that, according to the asshat also known as James Cameron, the "novelty" of her being the first female director to win an Oscar has now opened doors for female artists everywhere! Thanks, James, for reminding us women that we can't earn anything based on our raw talent, merit, and hard work, but rather because the "story of a female winning is so juicy" that of course the award would go to her.
That being said, thanks to Kathryn's win, I now feel so FREE and LIBERATED like never before that I am going to devote 100% of my time, money, and super charged estrogen into my soon-to-be Tony/Grammy/Academy Award winning project--Twlight: The Musical
I think it will follow in Kathryn's footsteps nicely and do her reputation as a trail-blazer proud. Especially since I am going to cast a velociraptor as Bella and Keanu Reeves will play a cameo as Bella's lips. Please email me if you're interested in helping to develop more ideas.
