I am not a fan of stupid ATMs

Today was crazy. I couldn't sleep last night, until less than an hour before I had to get up to go into NY with my dad. Did that, worked 6 hours and magically maintained conciousness. Then I went to Midtown to try to win the Wicked lotto, but didn't. I ended up getting a Student Rush ticket ($36.25) for Sweeney Todd. This was at about 5:30. The show wasn't until 7, so I walked back to the McDonald's on Broadway, ate, then walked over to Virgin Megastore to kill time. As I was going up the escalator to leave, I saw Pharell on the floor below, sitting at a table to autograph stuff. I didn't really care, but it was interesting being close-ish to a celebrity.

So anyway, I get to the show on time, first act is good, despite the fact that the Beggar Woman is being played by the understudy (btw, Sweeney still has 100% original cast). At act break I quickly head down to the bathroom, knowing how backed up it gets, especially when down a flight of stairs. As I'm walking out of the bathroom, who do I see? Sean, my roommate of like 4 weeks from Freshman year. We talk, stuff is good. Act II is starting, so we go back to our seats. I figure out that he's only like 5 rows in front of me at one point when I stopped paying attention to the show (the closer you are in this show, the more it grabs you).

After the show, we head to the Stage Door with the friend he's staying with. As soon as we get behind the barricade, the door opens and some old guys walk out. It just so happens that one of these old guys is Stephen Sondheim. Another one is the Director. So we got to see Stephen Sondheim (though very briefly, because only Sean recognised him at first, and he was walking away from the theatre pretty quickly), the director, and the entire cast before headinf back to Port Authority. So all in all, I'd have to say that today was pretty awesome, even though I've only had about 1 hour of sleep in the past 35 hours.

Also, saw Clerks II yesterday. You should see it, it's good.
