On the passing of another age...
The passage of time doesn't slow, with January gone in a flash, and many impending changes at work and all around. It's as if time itself is speeding up, without nary a warning that sweet spring will soon be over and the frenzy of summer begins all over again. ( Though I suppose it is a rather odd reference to use since there are no seasons in singapore, except for the winter we inflict on ourselves everytime we enter a building. Oh heck, it just feels like a summer frenzy till we break for national day anyway. )
Its everyone's birthday today... ( or yesterday rather, since I did begin this post past midnight... ) in chinese terms. I forget what it was we're supposed to eat in celebration of that today... was it the tang yuan ( in my favourite form as ah ballings, especially the ones with peanut filling at its core )?
January had been a relentless month, both fun and hectic. I would have been in reservist, if not for the work piling up in office, and the additional hit of my boss departing for temporary taitaidom. February and March will not be gentle months.
On the fun part, I ( and my cousin ) bought my dad a birthday dinner at Tung Lok Signatures at Vivocity. When the time came for the cake... they brought this in addition to the nicely decorated cake...

And just before chinese new year, I finally had the chance to debut my christmas present in my office...

Reunion dinner
Opps... I was too busy eating and actually forgot to take photos....
1st Day - Lunch
My cousin-in-law ( cousin's hubby ) cooks like this every year... and this is my first stop. Needless to say, we didn't stop eating til dinner time.
2nd Day - Lunch
No. of Yu shengs tossed in 2 days = 4
Next up... finding a suitable attire for 'Shanghai Glam' theme of my office dinner on monday. And I don't suppose I'll be bringing my Nerf gun...
