This pretty much embodies everything I feel about modern musicals, especially this Mama Mia, Billy Joel musical extravaganza bullshit. Why would you make a musical about Abba anyway? The fact that it was so successful makes me lose faith in theater-goers.
...and Wicked really isn't that great. People just seem to think it is. I will admit to listening to Defying Gravity, but that's really the only good song from that show. It's the bubblegum pop of musical theatre. My mind was changed briefly about it, but no, I was right the first time.
