so life has been crazy, but in a good way. (mostly)
i ended up getting a 4.0 GPA last term again which honestly i think i deserved since the classes really were not too difficult (except accounting- so glad thats over). probably the last 4.0 i'll ever get because in the spring i start taking all my really difficult finance courses which i hear are insane.
co-op has been great. i love ibm so far, it's been pretty cool working here. my office is up in east fishkill/hopwell junction though which kind of stinks since it's like 45 minutes from rye brook, but the traffic has been generally non-existant except for a few accidents. i have my own office and i got a laptop and everything and the site i work at is HUGE, like almost a 1,000 acres huge. it's like it's own little city, its crazy.
the work has been alright, not terribly interesting but not as boring as my old co-op either. i'm going to be put in charge of a few key accounts such as A&P, Ford, etc. so that is pretty awesome. i have the same responsibilities as a firt year analyst (which is justifyable by my salary i suppose.. but still intimidating.) there is another guy from drexel here but he is a bit older then me (an mba student) and a kid i think around my age from muhlenberg who i haven't really talked to much but i know he is from westchester also. everyone else is really nice but the office is not all that social since's it's just like halls and halls of offices, not all open cubicle type things like my job at the bancorp was. but its been okay. the person training me is pretty chill. my boss is also really awesome and ooo the best part of my job is that I GET TO WORK FROM HOME ON FRIDAY's!!!!! yea i definitly wasn't expecting that but it is pretty much the most awesome thing ever not having to commute and being able to wake up later and work in my pj's. heh.
it's been nice being home and not having to deal with the stresses of college. i definitly needed that. like work stress is different because once i leave work i can leave the stress at the office. but at school it's just like constant and u can't escape it. seeing julia and my family more are also pluses. it's done wonders for our relationship me being home. like last night julia and i went on a "date" out to an indian restaurant (tandoori-fucking good!) and saw a movie and such. it felt like we were first dating again, it was nice. granted we did get into a fight about me wanting to study abroad and how she would not be able to deal with me being gone for that much time but idk we'll see what happens with that and it was a small fight in an otherwise very fun night.
anyways so i've been working out at the IBM headquarters fitness center in armonk which is convienent because it's on the way back from work to home and it's only like 10 minutes from home. i've been going a few times a week and taking this class which has been fun so far. i wish it was open on weekends though.. i have also completely stopped drinking caffinated beverages (coffea, tea, soda, etc.) because it makes me jittery and i have tried to cut down on diet stuff and fake sugar like equal, sweet&low, and such because i am convinced it gives u cancer! lol idk im crazy..
in other news the election is coming up so fast i can't even believe it! and it could not come soon enough what with the economy crumbling around us (although the dow did have a huge rally comeback today, still not enough to make up it's phenomonal losses though). although i'm voting for obama/biden i just hope whoever wins tackles the issues and sorts this out before the economy really tanks.
sidenote; i have been addicted to tivo or DVR or whatever, it's pretty bad. somehow i manage to watch about 20 shows a week? i don't think i've seen a commercial in weeks.
and this weekend im going to boston with jules and her family for the head of the charles regatta that her bro is rowing in.. i love boston. and i love this time of year when it's starts getting colder and the leaves change.. its the best.
that's about all going on in my life so far. yep, not too interesting i suppose. hopefully i'll have more to talk about in my next post.
