Eagle-mania!

I have not updated in a long time... a long... LONG time... However there is a reason for this: I am planning on dropping my LJ. For a while now I've been working on various projects, and one of which is a zine of my own. I'm going to call it "Knusperflakes" and it will take the place of this blog. It is going to be based mostly on film, literature and theater-realted topics, but it will have a smattering of other things as well. Tyson and I are going to be working on a comic for it (that, or a web-comic), and Jason said he'd write a colimn about music. At my request, Jessi said she'ld write periodically about the things she hates, why she hates them, and why anybody who disagrees is stupid. I'm going to ask Richard if he'ld like to write about cars.

However, I have had considerable difficulty getting the project off the ground because I have been considerably busy. While I'm not "working" right now, I have a (very) full 18 college hours, half of which are honors courses. I am working on three performances (two plays and a musical) at TCC (I'm only in one, but I'm working lights and/or sound for the others). Long story short, I've been busy. Lay off.

Interestingly enough, I STARTED this entry off-topic; my main point is the events of yesterday. My Eagle Scout court of honor was yesterday. It was actually a joint CoH with four other guys in my troop that all got Eagle around the same time that I did. These guys were Pierce Cox, Ryan Spencer, Stuart Schmidt and Grant Lyon. Maybe I'll post a copy of the program or something. While I was already, technicaly an Eagle Scout, the award hadn't been presented yet. Well, now it has.

A great deal of my friends came, along with the friends and family of the other four guys. Brent Donnel showed up, who is a long-time friend of mine from the troop. He joined about a month after I did, about 9 years ago. He ended up leaving the troop about 4 years ago and never got Eagle. Jason is an Eagle Scout and he showed up. Austin Peaster (everyone just calls him "Peaster") was also there. I'm pretty sure he made Eagle too.

Afterwards, a bunch of us (Crytal, Jason, Tyson, Sam, Brent, Elise, Daniel, his girlfriend Rebecca, and a friend of hers named Becky) all went to TGIF. Crystal told the waiter that it was my birthday (it wasn't) and that I had just become an Eagle Scout. So... after dinner, all the waiters showed up and sang to me an gave me an ice-cream thing, It was pretty good. I didn't know they were going to do this.

After THAT, we went to the Ridgmar Movie Tavern to do the Saturday-night Rocky Horror thing. The reason we thought about this was that Brent had told us he had joined the cast and was a part of the show. It was... interesting. Anyway, when the show was over we all went home because it was 2AM and it had been a long day.
