Have I ever mentioned just how very much I love my computer?
My family has always had a Macintosh. Since my mother is (or was) a graphic designer, she needed a Ma because all the best editing programs (of any kind) work best on Macs.
Now, before anybody gets on my case about why PCs are better, I think they should SHUT UP! Anybody that believes a PC is better is an absolutel idiot. Sure they are "user-frienddly" (for anybody that wasn't in the room when I said that aloud to myself, that was full of sarcasm), but they are unreliable, flimsy, and inaccessible for non-programmers. If you do not know how to get into the backdoors of a PC, you are helpless and at the hands of Tech Support people. A Mac is not as user-friendly, but it is a much more reliable OS. And Unix is even more extreme. While it is not very user-friendly, it is EXTREMELY reliable. Everything is on the surface. The only reason I have a PC is because most of the software I would use is only (or mostly) PC-compatible.
Anyway, my computer I recieved for Christmas of '01, I believe. I wanted my own computer (and a PC) becuase it was like getting my own work space. I also wanted to play games, which I couldn't do on our ancient Mac. What I love about my computer is my music. Every CD I get I copy onto my computer using Winamp, possibly God's greatest gift to mankind... well... maybe 2nd or 3rd, anyway. After I do this, I can arrange all my music (which loads the track names all by itself off of the internet) into any number of playlists any number of times. If I so desire, I can copy CDs, or make my own mp3 CDs, holding several entire albums.
Like I said earlier, my computer is my own work space. I have everything arranged just the way I like it, with the screensaver scrolling through a particular set of some of my favorite pictures, and my Chocobo backround. I have my own bookmarks (I refuse to call them "Favorites") set up in categories and folders I determined. Ontop of all this, I have all my games. Many, many, MANY games. Alost all of them superb.
Wow, when I started this, I was awake, but I'm tired now so I'm going to bed. I'll finish this later.
