Okay, so basically Aurah sucks and on some unconscious level rebels against any sort of schedule that does not involve other people, so this log is waaaay behind. Also, with the session this week (that got moved to Thursday due to finals), this may be the greatest consecutive number of weeks a game in Towers has ever run. Counting Randy's expected absence tomorrow, there will have been a total of 2 absences across ten sessions with 5 players (counting the DM). Not bad, eh? Rolling along slow but steady.
Also, microwaves are godly things and why oh why will I not have one for the next few weeks whatamigoingtodo? Also, moving-out roommates, why you keep taking all of Aurah's stuff! *Angry grabby hands* I've gone psychobitch and plastered sticky notes on every non-dishware item I own in the apartment - that is to say, the majority of the things in my apartment. Adam M. says I'm like a dragon, knowing every coin in my hoard, and I'm inclined to agree. I would be a brown dragon, I think, for food is a wonderful thing.
Also, I 'jacked a fish. It was extremely abused and I must now rehab it, but it is mine now. Yes.
Anyhow, you're here to read the campaign log and not listen to me ramble, right? Without further ado...

Session 3 (level 5/6 - leveled up midway):
After losing the thieves, the party spends most of the next day piddling around before heading to the meeting place 1-2 hours in advance. Instead of setting up traps, two simple go onto the roof and the other two hide in the shadows around the alleyway. Two hours after the scheduled meeting time has passed, Ash gets bored and frustrated and marches straight up to the lone back door in the alley and bangs on it, asking for Jelia. The bodyguard who answers the door is instantly wary and a fight begins. In the shadows, only Ash and Zeke, who are near the door, notice the small compass on the belt of Jelia, the 16-year-old little eladrin girl with the mechanical cobra.
A very tough fight ensues as the thieves also enter the fray and a pair of snipers come onto the rooftops. One near-TPK and ass-kicking via little girl later, Ash uses the earring from the archmage to call for help, which leads Jelia to grab her earring - which the party now identifies as one of the earrings Yuuko sent them after - and crush it, teleporting away and leaving the corpses of her allies and her now-inactive cobra behind. On the body of the doppelganger thief the party finds several tomes, including the book Yuuko sent them after. Book immediately activates his amulet and hands over the book to Yuuko. Ash and Zeke, both still wounded from the fight, demand payment for almost dying. Deciding to humor them and give them "part of their boon now," each party member gets a single at-level magic item of their choice (the only time they've been allowed to pick their own items).
After handing over the remaining books to the Temple of Oghma from which they were originally stolen, Ash requests and is granted a day's access to the secret portion of the library, where the party learns a lot of basic information about the world and its layers. They then head back to the forest to follow-up on the ritual now that the storm has died down. There, an irritated nymph throws a large glowing quasi-substantial giant will-o-wisp thing at Ash's head. It becomes his spirit companion and he dubs it squeak, for it is a baby elemental of some sort and can only verbalize in squeaking noises. Spoken to by Ash or telepathically by Book, it is oddly extremely eloquent.
