For those who aren't aware, I began working on 3 manuals (Races, Gods, and Layer (basically worlds)) for my homebrew world Niore, which I plan to use as the setting for a campaign I'll start once both my current ones finish.
I've axed a number of more minor races, added a damage type, taken a different approach to some others, and completely changed the lore behind genasi and changelings to the degree that it actually affects mechanics. And that's to say nothing of the gods, who I've altered and handpicked from the plethora of 3.5 Forgotten Realms Deities. To reflect all the things unique to/specific with Niore, I've been spending some quality time with InDesign, making manuals. Three are started/finished with a 4th for Nations and Cities under consideration.
So far, the Races manual is done, the Layers is a little over half-done, and the Gods is only about 1/6 done, being the largest. The latter two are involving a bit of slogging now that all the formatting and at-a-glance stuff is done and all that's left is the in-depth text portions, but it's going. I'm admittedly getting constantly distracted by doing little one-page side materials, such as for the homebrew Wizard build "Shadow Mage," my altered rules for Dark Pact Warlocks, the color wheel of elemental oppositions, plot planning and nation-building, etc., but it's going.
Motivation is coming and going very suddenly and randomly, but since it doesn't seem like we'll be running both campaigns simultaneously this semester I'll likely have a year or far more to finish, so maybe I'll actually be able to follow through on a New Year's resolution for once.
