Well, we made it through largely unscathed. A huge pine tree next door fell in our backyard and over our fence, but that's a helluva lot better than landing on our house. Across the street another tree fell and tore up that house's driveway. We also have a downed power line across the street, and a couple of other felled trees in our neighborhood. One house had five trees fall through it! But nobody's hurt, and many of us have been outside checking on others.

Two of our friends weathered the storm with Rob and I, which was nice. Our power went out about 12:30 AM Saturday, and it's still out. Rob and I are now at his mom's house, in Tomball, and they have power. The Wal-Mart down the road is also open, and the lines to it are INSANE. We're still good for water and food for a bit. Our gas stove still works, and we have a trickle of water, so last night I made spaghetti by candlelight. :) Tonight we'll probably grill some of the meat in the freezer, which is just now starting to defrost (the meat, not the freezer; that's been leaking).

I don't have to go into work tomorrow, which is good, but other than that we're just taking things day by day. Cell phone service is spotty, but I get text messages okay. Probably best to message me that way if you want to get in touch.

Later I'll post pics of our neighborhood. Here's hoping things get back to normal pretty quickly.
