I officially need to start studying Russian again. Since the Russian government isn't so picky about regulations, I think a nice healthy space tourism business could sprout up there. I could also see that sprouting up in South America, for a number of reasons. Perhaps a reason to finally learn Spanish ( Read more... )

Nah, I don't really eat that many snooty foods. ;) Lately I've been living on baked potatoes and really simple pasta. And a friend of mine bought a slow cooker, and I've been envying his yummy stories of carrots and whatnot. Comfort food is the best.

It depends a lot on where you are, if you're reading on your own in your own home, at a university, etc etc. The woman who wrote Reading Lolita in Tehran talks about her difficulties in being allowed to teach Western works, and lately there have been some promising strides made.
