Wow...I haven't updated in ages...

Jun 03, 2008 09:23

I haven't written an entry since....mmm...last December?! Wow, so much has happened, but I haven't thought to write about it here.

But then again, how many people really read my LJ anyways?

So yes, I've been busy...so much so that I haven't written anything here about it.
Well...let's start off with the Spring 2008 semester.

It started off kind of like how it always does...uneventful. I had Computer Graphics, so I was looking forward to learning about some graphics related things. Of course, I thought it'd be hard since there'd be a lot of math involved...but, our professor is awesome & catered to the needs of the students. Most, if not all the projects were a lot of fun to work on. Of course, I got unjustifiably procrastinated towards the end of the semester. (I'm sure the grammar in that sentence isn't 100%, but whatever...I'm not an English major for a reason!) But it always turns out like that. Just wanting it all to be over with~

ACM activities also kept me pretty busy. I had to run around to ASUOP to talk to the treasurer about budget issues. Or rather, issues about people getting back their reimbursements. Hopefully...everything has reached where it needed to go by now. I mean...after ACM elections in April, I no longer hold position. That means I don't have to work hard as the Treasurer anymore~ So my last year at Pacific will be a 'lazy' one. I'm going to have 16 units this coming semester & 18 for my last semester here. Totally not going to be lazy in that sense.
But, in terms of ACM...not at all busy :D

Though, I guess since a certain someone is ACM Event Coordinator...I have to help him out once in a while.
Plus there's another certain lazy boy, who is my replacement as Treasurer, that I have to take care of. めんどックセー

Ah well, what can't be helped, can't be helped.
↑ that's a quote that I'm known for at @games (laugh)

The semester was a lot of fun times. Classic Network Games, No-tech Game Night, movie night (I didn't attend though...), laser tag, end of the year dinner (to celebrate our grads as well as the end of the year/semester), and end of the year bbq. Aside from ACM stuff, I had fun just talking randomly with people in class. CG class was fun for that reason; I got to spend time with people I enjoy being around. Everyday was a fun day, albeit tedious because of notes.

It's good I got to spend some time with the friends because they were grads & these times would be the few I could spend with them at school. I'm sure I'll get to see them from time to time when they visit or whatever. :)

Anyways~ So, the semester started off like any other. BUT! The only difference is that a certain someone invited me to a Super Bowl party...only to confess his feelings for me, while inebriated. Yeah. Not exactly romantic. *sigh*
But then again, I didn't really expect it to be (laugh). Well, we started off shaky, but it got better. (oh ho, this implies something doesn't it?! ahahahaha \(゜ロ\)(/ロ゜)/)

First kiss, first date...all in the same week :) They were warm moments. Though, being the first, I had no idea what to really expect. The first kiss took me by surprise a bit (though I knew it was coming eventually). So, as according to a certain someone, I was like a limp fish. Thanks. Definitely what a girl wants to hear...Yeah, no. But we have a very interesting relationship that way. He can be honest & I won't kill him for it. Same, vice versa.

The reason for the limp fish comment was because I was surprised & didn't reciprocate any lip movement. Hey now, I was surprised & was like "what the heck?!" When we broke it & kissed again, it was a lot better. Regardless of what a certain someone else thinks. :\

So yeah...the day after was Valentine's Day. The day of our first date. I didn't know what he had in mind other than dinner. So, when he picked me up, he had flowers at the ready. I wasn't expecting it, so I had turned away to turn off the lights to go before I saw them. It was funny & awkward. I'm sure he wanted to sweep me off my feet with flowers, but I put a halt to that before he could. Ahaha. 不器用でごめんね(笑)

Well, he gave them to me & I was like 'aww' in my mind. It's the first time someone has given me flowers other than my mom. :P
Also, he had chocolate & a card (he made himself) waiting in the car. So sweet...and so full of corniness. But that's what I find cute. :3
I also had something for him~ Card (I didn't make myself..too lazy for Val. day) & chocolate (in a container that I did make myself :P)

We ate dinner at The Spaghetti Factory. It was good; I had the lasagna. Mm mm, yum. He paid, though I said I would pay for my share. And he was like 'this is our first date, are you kidding?'
He wanted to end the date with a make-out session. But I refused.
And from then onwards, we'd have 30 minute struggle sessions before I'd give him one kiss.
It's not like that anymore now, but it was for a while.

There are tons of moments I could share. But I've already written them down elsewhere. AND! No one really wants to hear long-winded tales about someone else's mushy moments. So, I'll save everyone the trouble.

Other than that. The final thing I have to write about in this entry, is about my internship~

So I started it on Monday May 19, 2008 down in Modesto. I had to move from school down to an apartment in Modesto, which, thank the pink bunny in the sky, we got at such short notice. I'm here with my roommate/friend (same major, same almost everything). So, we get to learn XML, XSL, FO, etc together! Whee, what fun.

I've learned a few things from our supervisor. He has an abundant wealth of knowledge to share & definitely willing to share it. So, I'm expecting to leave my internship at the end of the summer head full of knowledge I didn't gain in school. :)

Everyone is nice here and I think the experience will be very rewarding overall. Which is great..especially with spending the spring semester looking for internships in ENGR25. It was tiring...ridiculously so because I had to balance it with so much. ACM Treasurer biz, numerous projects, first relationship ever, and this. Also with all the other stresses in life, I was about to explode with stress.(@_@;)

I'm at work as I type this...and yeah, it's bad to be shirking my duties when I'm being paid to be productive. BUT! Before you judge, I need to explain the situation. My supervisor & a few co-workers of mine are off at a Mass Spec conference in Denver for a week! So, I'm still working on what he left us with, but I don't have to devote every second to it because it's not a horrendous load. :) Plus there are two of us working on it; definitely eases things.

Mm...balancing a 8-5 job with everything else in life...kind of tiring. I'm not used to being somewhere for 8 hours working & not having the freedom to come & go. Other than ACM of course..though, that was because I felt the need to stay at those events & oversee things and I did get to come & go as I pleased.

Ah, I didn't think I had so much to write about even though it has been nearly 6 months since my last entry. I mean, how many eventful situations could really come up, worthy enough to journal about? Mm...a lot, I guess. (laugh)

So, I end with that. There's still more to write about in detail. But, I'm sure I'd be tired of reading this crap by now, myself.

Bottom line is: I'm working, busy still, but nonetheless, I'm happy. Life can always get better, but it's all about living in the moment & being content with life as it comes. Cheers to an eventful summer! :3

Phew, that was a long one. Definitely need to be diligent in updating or else it's going to turn out like this every time. @___@ Anyways, I'm off~
