"You're sure," Arthur states, glancing at the other balcony. It's hard to add punctuation when he's currently about twenty meters off the ground and the only thing holding him up is a bunch of leaves and a trellis that's feeling awfully precarious at the moment.
"Of course. This isn't the first time," the man laughs. He's shirtless but wearing trousers. His feet, which are eye-level with Arthur, are bare. Arthur cranes his head back as the man walks out of the room and onto the balcony. "This is all very romantic. I'm almost beside myself with envy."
"But you said it's happened before. Haven't you gotten used to it by now?"
"Yes, but there's a variable each time, isn't there?" He grins. "You're by far the most endearing suitor I've seen so far."
"And why is that," Arthur demands.
"Well, first of all, you barely look old enough to be pulling this sort of stunt," the man explains. "Second of all, you have absolutely no idea that the trellis is actually tipping over as we speak."
Arthur yelps. He manages to climb over the top, jump toward the balcony, and catch himself against the railing before the thing hits the ground with a loud whump.
The man raises his eyebrows. "Impressive," he says sincerely.
