The one I'mr eading right now? Tonight, but it's the last in a trilogy, so you'd have to read the first two (which are just as amazing, but this one is more sophisticated so I'm freaking out coz you never get sohpisticated fantasy novels for young adults).
Please don't pitch a spaz but it's about magic....and the government. The evil stupid Tony Blair types enslave demons and thus control magic and all the 'commoners' that basically work for them. These guys suck. Nathaniel is only 12 in the first book so he doesn't know this yet and being trained as a magician, and he has an amazing adventure in the course of which he starts to develope his "I'm an anal-retentive, egotistical government official" attitude. But the best part of the whole trilogy is the demon he summons because he is the snarkiest and funniest character I have ever read (so his fa ngirl ^_^).
If this still appeals to you, I shall bring the first book on Wednesday (relatively empty bag).
Well, he was just being my dad ^_^
Ha hahaha!
