this is what I get for obsessing over home-schooled Christians

Okay, I know you've probably all seen the pictures from this article on callusfreaks, but I want to talk about this:

Meanwhile, Joe recently saw his mother, Denise Jonas, open up about he and his brothers’ fame and future sex life.

“They are men. They have desires. They have testosterone,” Denise told People magazine. “If they make a mistake, I’m not going to hate them.”

Continuing on, Joe’s mom adds, “I don’t think they are above or below being seduced. I would be foolish if I thought that. They are tested and tested, like every one of us. I pray for them.”

Okay, before the serious stuff, can I just say how mortified I'd be if I were a teenage boy and my mom gave an interview to a national magazine about my desires and hormones?

Anyway, having made that statement (which I find annoying even as is), it really irks me that she then turns around and acts like them doing anything would obviously be a result of them being seduced by an evil wench, and maybe helped along by their hormones, and not, I feel it's implied, due to anything they have control over.

And that's without even getting IN to the hyper-defined gender roles both this and, I think, the Good Housekeeping article seem to promote, and which never fail to annoy me. I'm not usually very reactionary, but there's a certain kind of traditionalism with regards to gender roles that really bothers me.

In any case, how happy am I that this came out the same day Joe is all over the internet shaking his ass in high heels and a catsuit? SO happy :D

(Seriously, I love it, but how did that get by the parents??)
