So today we did workshop editing in class and I pointed out that the guy in one story was actually using a minigun, not what my classmate labeled it as, and it got a laugh because I AM LEETLE GIRL WHAT DO I KNOW OF WEAPONS
That was cool.
On Wednesday I met up with said classmate and another friend to check out a London venue as a group, which was an assignment for some reason. I picked the place from a lsit we were given. We were there in Farringdon for about 10 minutes and it took an hour to get over there, but at least I had a direct train! And I did a lot of reading on the way, it was fairly enjoyable actually.
I also had some good views out of the window, because I've never come into London that way before, and everything just looked so damn eclectic. Every building is a different size and type and has a different cultural architecture from the last one and could be a hundred years older or younger. It's amazing how these bits and pieces have built up over such a long period of time and it's inspiring to look over.
After finding out what this one little writing association was for, we went looking for lunch, and like some magical Street of Requirement we stumbled into an entire road of pubs and restaurants - curry, Italian, Japanese, a food market from Exmouth, a crepe stand, one place with a sandwich board reading ROAST CHICKEN ROAST so whatever that was, and one that just served cheese.
I liked the idea of a steak but none of us had much money on us so we went to a kebab place instead.
Lucky for me I didn't get tired out by adding another outing to the week because Thursday's class was cancelled.
I'm up for editing next week so I have to write down the opening of my novel and send it out on Monday. This is daunting. I want to do it, but eesh. Having seen the stuff my peers are sending around, I really shouldn't worry that much though. At least I know how to spell 'cubicle'.
