Finished Assassin's Creed II in three sittings. >_> BUT IT WAS SO GOOD. AND SHINY. AND. ♥ So much of an improvement over the first game which I thought was already really very good.
Dear
yuletide people who also requested/offered Assassin's Creed: please find me! I scoured the Dear Yuletide Writer letters post and I still haven't found any of you. ;_; I want people to fangirl with! And write AC stocking stuffers for! Because this fandom is screaming for awesome fic.
My Assassin's Creed II Fic Wishlist
- Ezio/Leonardo bromance. You can't deny it.
- The Auditore family before tragedy strikes. Something sweet and heart-warming, like a holiday story. (Maybe them all going and celebrating Carnavale together?)
- The lost years: Anything covering the gaps between memory sequences (which I thought were a little odd because they seemed so seamless if you disregarded the jumps in years).
- Macchiavelli as an Assassin, tying it into his real life and his writings. This could probably be an epic Arc of its own.
- Something rich in imagery about sitting on the rooftops of Venice at dawn and watching the city waking up.
- Also, something about Romagna/the Italian countryside. Maybe Ezio and Leonardo (or just Ezio) going and taking a break from city life...?
- Something written from the perspective of the merchants and people of Monteriggioni about Ezio, and how his arrival changed things.
- According to the Wikipedia article on Leonardo da Vinci, he had a great respect for life and held the sanctity of life in high esteem, yet he facilitates Ezio going out and killing people. I'd like to read more about that conflict and how he justifies it to himself.
Also, while I'm brainstorming already... Someone else was saying that they think the setting for AC3 is going to be World War II, which would make me so upset because there's so many WWII and Cold War video games already... What I love about this franchise is that it tackles historical periods that are not generally featured in games. So!
My Assassin's Creed III Settings Wishlist
- The Russian Revolution. Duuuude that would be so cool! Definitely my #1 choice.
- Anything in Constantinople/the Byzantine Empire. It would probably have to be before the 1400s for it to tie in properly, so... that would mean the Fourth Crusade? (I really just want to see them recreate Constantinople.)
- The English Civil War, or anything in England around that time period, because there are delicious court politics and beheadings and whatnot. And also, Oliver Cromwell in a video game would be SWEET!
- The Bourbon Restoration, again because the politics are deliciously complex.
- Victorian England, especially if they made it kind of steampunk-esque.
- The War of Spanish Succession, mostly because it involves the Dutch. :D
- The U.S. around the War of 1812. The U.S. would not be my first choice for a setting (I'd rather see Europe) but if it had to be, I'd prefer this over the Revolution or the Civil War.
- Japan during/after the Meiji Revolution. I know this is a long shot, but it would be so cool because it would be like Rurouni Kenshin meets Assassin's Creed!
This is based off them saying that the setting could be between the first and second games, so it basically has to be anytime after 1100 and before the present day. I am also presuming that the setting will be Europe, the Middle East (if before AC2), or North America (if after AC2).
