Beyond uncool.
I am so tired. And my parents confiscated my laptop because "it was distracting me from my schoolwork." True, yeah, but they actually came to college and took it away. I should've known better than to come to a university where my dad served as an IT guy for nearly a decade. Of course he can talk to his old buddies and find out my online usage. Grrr. So incredibly not cool.
I've got a packed schedule tomorrow...I'm so not looking forward to it. But I have no classes on Wednesday, so I think I'll just sleep. And, in awesome news, my professor played Cream in my History of Rock class tonight. \o/ Yaaaay, Cream!
We watched this movie called Stage Beauty in my 18th Century Brit Lit course today. It was about male actors who played women in the 1600s (because it was illegal for women to act), and then Charles II passed a law that made it so only women could play women's parts, so these guys are out of work. It was actually really interesting, watching this poor guy's complexes...since he was trained since he was very young to play women's roles exclusively, he does not know how to act as a man. He was defined by his feminine characteristics even in public; in private the only relationship he'd ever had was the submissive partner in a homosexual couple. He basically has a mental breakdown because his entire identity as a female-male was taken away from him. Made for really compelling watching at some points. And the entire movie was totally worth it for the final rendition of the last scenes from Othello. I mean, wow. I was literally shivering.
Hey, does anyone remember playing this old computer game called "Oregon Trail"? Something just reminded me of it today. I used to love that game so much.
