Houston, we have a problem

Mom brought her second litter up to the porch today. It looked like there were only two, a little grey wolf and a timid black guy. Then another black guy poked his head out of the bushes. And another.

But this is too many cats, so now we have to figure out what to do. Queen would be hard to catch because she's the most feral of the lot. Look at her. You're not fooling those eyes.

I really don't like the idea of spaying her because it seems insulting and intrusive. The alternative would be letting the kittens starve. I'm stupid about this. I believe in death with dignity instead of trying to erase suffering from the world. You can't erase suffering anyway and if you try then you just get a population that's more and more dense and restless. It's not natural. I know it's what humans have to do until we figure out how to get to other habitable planets, but why should we make other species do that too?

From the first litter, Lionheart's mostly moved on and eats somewhere else now, so we don't have to worry about him. Junior (/Buster) has gotten very friendly, and always asks for pets, and you can pick him up. Today he waltzed right into the living room and flopped down on the carpet. He's almost full grown and he would be really adoptable.

Peanut (/Chickenheart) is pretty friendly now too, and he could pass for a house cat.

Silver's the only one who's still a little too cautious of people. But he gets to be the big brother now and the kittens are scared of him.

If we're going to help the new litter then the black triplets will need names. Does anyone have any ideas?
