Should I be insulted, or just accept the shrink's appraisal? I mean, I get the neurosises and even the naivite', but oblivious to the harsher sides of reality?

you and me both. Owls of a feather? can't say it's too far off. I pulled out - on request - my 8th grade yearbook. I was asked a few questions about why folks kept saying things like "Relax" "Try to be less freaky" "Don't hurt too many people" "Relax (again)" and "We like you strange". Also two nicknames I had forgotten about - "Aesop" and "The Furor(sp)".

Actually remembering all those folks and the events of the time seems like 1984 was only a few years ago.
