Fic Exchange Update
Hey fic exchange participants!
First, the good news: I have either received a story or heard from everyone who signed up for the exchange. Yeah! Go us!
The ambivalent news: I'm just a little bit nervous about the fics still out there, because I know all about the road to hell and good intentions. ;) Now, please be aware that I'm not mad at anybody and I'm not going to get on anyone's case, because lord knows I have my own issues with deadlines and writers' block, BUT, I do want to make sure that everyone who has written a story will receive a story in turn. (Even if this means that I have to write them myself on my lunch breaks. I make NO representations as to quality if this occurs! *cough* pinch hitter sign ups are still open *cough*)
So, what I've come up with to make this as fair as possible is this: posting is scheduled to begin this Wednesday and to continue for a week. I think it's only reasonable to give whoever ends up pinch-hitting, assuming anyone does, at least a week to write their story. SO, in order to guarantee (to the extent possible) that if your writer defaults, you will be assigned a pinch-hitter, I need to have received your story by
Wednesday. (So, think 11:59 on Tuesday night, not Wednesday night.)
This obviously doesn't mean that you definitely WON'T get a story if you haven't turned one in by Wednesday. And you are definitely welcomed/encouraged/implored to turn in your story at any point up through the last day of posting. I just can't absolutely guarantee that you'll receive one if I don't have yours by the first day of posting.
I hope that seems fair to everyone!
