So, my plane came in at around 9pm last night. Dad was late. We drove to Seattle, looked around for a short, amusing while, then went out for dinner at Shari's, the only open restaraunt in the area at midnight. We spent the night at my grandparents house, because they are away in Alaska on my grandpa's yacht for the remainder of the summer. Apparently, everyone uses my grandparents' house when they're away. There were cards everywhere that said shit like "Welcome, Guest!" It was pretty funny.
Today, my dad woke me up at 8:30am. He had work from 11 to 5, and he didnt have any place for me to go. All of his friends who would "hang out" with me and were available were the people who I refused to be left alone with. The ones who I agreed to stay with were unavailable. So in the end, my dad left me at the mall for 6 hours. It was really funny when he was giving me money.
"Okay, well, here's some extra cash, for food and stuff..."
He hands me $60.
"Were you planning on buying anything?"
"Well...I kind of wanted to get a skirt..."
He hands me another $40.
I also had $40 of my own, and he knew that, too.
I bought 2 long skirts (one red knee-length with red lace trim on the top, one brown floor-length with peach lace trim at the bottom), and the following cds:
The Dresden Dolls: The Dresden Dolls
The Flaming Lips: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots 5.1 (plus DVD)
The Best of Simon and Garfunkel
ACDC: Highway to Hell
My dad likes The Dresden Dolls (so does my mom, from the one song she heard by them that I had saved onto my computer). He REALLY likes The Flaming Lips. He's always liked Simon and Garfunkel, and he told me that he only liked ACDC when he saw them live in '81.
My dad has a really good stereo system. The speakers are almost as tall as I am, and he has 2 of them on different corners of the front of the house.
I had almost forgotten how nice it actually is up here. Everything is really green, except for people's lawns that arent used to the absence of rain. The water here is actually blue. Mount Rainier looks like it could eat me. I havent run into any of my island friends from last year yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Tomorrow, my dad and I were going to go up to the mountain, but the weather forecasts changed to say that it's supposed to actually rain a little tomorrow, and not be as hot as it was today. Today, I think it was as hot as it has been in California.
Gawd, this is a long entry.
You can just TELL how bored I am, haha.
I almost forgot to mention that I talked to my friend Tonya today. She moved to Texas in December, but she said that she will be in California from August 1st to the 7th. Too bad, I'm going to be here in Washington until the 10th. That little bit makes me sad. I miss her.
Other than that, I'm enjoying my vacation so far.
I'll write again later, and hopefully, I wont write quite as much.
