The flambouyant guy hosted the slam again. He wore a tye-die shirt. He likes polyester, too.

Kayci wore her sunglasses today. We decided not to get the eyepatch. Um The poetry slam was pretty cool...37 people showed up to try to be in the slam, and they pulled 17 names out of a hat. I was the 5th person called. Lets just say that a teenage angst poem is the wrong poem to use when you're the only teenager performing. Everyone said that my poem was really good, but since it wasnt funny, I didnt make it to the next round.

It's okay. There's another one in December or something.

The poet laureate is this old perverted grandma lady. She read a poem about sex. And how her grandkids were in the audience. It was really funny.

A reporter from some newspaper kept talking to me during the intermission when Kayci and I were having one of our psycho moments. The lady wrote down my name, and asked me some questions and stuff. I was really hyper.

Oh yah, they said that the 17 poets who performed are going to perform in this Fund Raiser for the La Paloma Theater. I guess that includes me.

Oh yah, did I mention that the whole theater was packed? I was glad that you cant really see anyone when you're on the stage. I was freaked out enough.

I kinda wish I did a different poem. I found a better one during the intermission, after I already found out that I didnt make it to the next round.

Kayci and I left early. The first round was 2 hours long. There were still 2 more rounds to go. We didnt get to find out how much the cash prize was. They passed a popcorn bucket around the whole theater, though. The guy in front of me put in a $20. I put in $.72 . I still think there was probably a lot of money in that bucket, though.

Oh wellzzzz. I guess I'll just have to work and make money the normal way.

I should be making around $600 by the end of the first week of August, so I guess I'll just get my iPod at that time.
