I think it's Halo time.

I went to see "Across the Universe" again tonight with an ex-coworker.  On my way back, I took a little walking detour through the campus union, where I THEN ran into one of my ex-students.  She's a freshman now, so it makes for a weird acquaintanceship.  I'm probably three years older than her at most, but since I spent last year basically babysitting high school seniors, it makes me feel so much older.  We made small talk, and she ask me about the movie.  My response?:

"Oh it was basically like being high for two hours straight........not that I would know anything about that....not that YOU should know anything about that....um....I'm going now."

Hello, foot? Meet mouth.

In other, less mortifying news, I watched the latest episode of Supernatural.

Or "Sin City," if you want to get technical.

I'm going to do what I like to call a "compliment sandwich."  I'll start by saying something good, followed by something bad, followed by something good again.  That way, no feelings are hurt. *adjusts tie*

Good: The brotherly love is practically palpable.  Our boys are split up AGAIN *COUGHKRIPKECOUGH*, yet they never seem to be far apart.  Where there is one you can almost feel the other one with him.  It doesn't hurt that they both look especially gorgeous in this episode.  Obviously, you can't have them both on screen for very long--our flailing fangirl hearts couldn't take it.

Bad:  The plot seemed a little...weak.  The whole brothel thing wasn't especially memorable, and only served as a cheap set-up to get Dean in the basement with the demon.  Same goes for other hunter guy, whose name I can't recall right now.  Introducing him did what exactly for the storyline?  So Dean has a semi-sleazy hunter friend?  Fabulous.  Oh, wait, he's dead. Never mind then.

Good:  Ooh, plot exposition!  I enjoy and encourage plot development of any sort.  Ol' Yellow Eyes is "Azazel," eh?  I'll leave it to you edumacated folks to do the meta on that one.

Overall, it was a lot of "eh" and an average amount of "squee."  Huh, there should probably be a fangirl rating system like that: 3/5 Squees

Night night for now, friends.  I'm watching "28 Days Later" at the moment, which is one of my favorite movies.  Egad, British zombies!

sin city, supernatural
