Yes, I realize I live in Nebraska, but gifting one another with corn? Is this really a stereotype we want to perpetuate? This is a bit like last month, when the front page story of the local newspaper was "CORN FAILURE!" in giant, "Doomsday" lettering. As if a greater tragedy has not befallen this country in recent memory.

For the very astute in the audience, yes, I realize the ridiculousness of taking the time to rant about another's obsessive behavior. I'd defend myself by saying that I'm from the Midwest and, therefore, "don't know any better," but even I couldn't handle that level of hypocrisy. Therefore, I must distract you all by sneakily changing the subject.
