thank god it's over - bring on 2008!!

Yay, it's the new year! Hooray!!

OK, so UPDATES:

YES! I passed my Computer Networking subject. In fact, I got a CREDIT, which is even better than a pass! Thank goodness, cause I worked my ass off for that subject and still didn't feel very confident.

Also, I received THREE OFFERS to different unis in order to do my Dip Ed. This means I am definitely doing it. It also means I get to choose the one that best meets my needs, instead of just going with the only one I got into. Awesome. I am totally excited about doing it, as I figure that:
a) I will finally get paid more money to do what I essentially already do, once I am qualified
b) I can work towards a career path instead of feeling like I am slowly wasting away and losing my skills
c) I can totally tell kids off
d) I figure that since I did that Info Tech subject last year which was one of the hardest things I've done in a long long time, and got a credit on that, then anything else will be a breeze in comparison.

It'll be nice to be studying something (relatively) easier - something that I already have knowledge and experience in where I don't feel like I'm starting from scratch in something I have no idea about. The computing subject was good - it's given me some skills, reminded me of the workload of study and the necessary motivation and time management that I need to employ, and given me some confidence back and retrained me to start getting into the study zone again. However, it's been a hard slog and a very steep learning curve. It's something I'd like to go back to in the future but right now I just really need to feel like I'm progressing a bit more quickly so I can work my way into a better job and do the things that I want to do sooner rather than later.

Other updates include finally cleaning my room and setting up my desk so that I can work on it effectively, finishing the new Miranda July book, sorting through all my old VHS tapes to decide what to throw out (lots of late nights watching old Rage clips! Bring back 1998!), and staying inside to avoid the sweltering 41.C degree heat. Stupid heat.

Happy New Year!
