Congratulations, cassander42! He was the first respondent to inform me that it is possible to use Google on some text from my previous post to figure out my Real Name™. So that post is now friends-locked.
Oh noes! It's *once again* 26 days since my last public post and Pharyngula might *still* drop me from his blogroll! So now what do I talk about?
This weekend my family is participating for the first time in a neighborhood-wide yard sale. We're madly going around the house, trying to find stuff we can do without. So far the garage is about ⅓ full and we stil have 2-3 rooms left to evaluate. Hopefully there won't be any hurricanes this week because I can't put the car away right now.
I bought myself a used laptop computer! It has a working microphone, but whistling into it doesn't sound so hot. I still owe porsupah a recording of my throat-singing, which will take a while because I'm 20 years out of practice!
I have another two or three months to get through before I hear back from Canada on whether they'll let us in. Recently yet another financial analyst joined the crowd of people who say the value of the US dollar is going to fall precipitously sometime in 2008. I have no way to evaluate their claims, which center around Southeast Asian central banks and exactly how willing they will be to continue funding Bush's madness in the Middle East. I'd like to move my money into Loonies (Canada has no foreign debt), but I can't justify it if I don't even know whether I'll ever be allowed to leave the Soviet States of America.
