Why Am I A Vegetarian??
one of the biggest reasons for my veggieness is animal compassion. i just cant imagine anyone wanting to eat or hurt an animal in any way when there are SO many options out there now-a-days. it was really difficult almost 19 years ago when i made the transition. now its like breathing...so much so that when i see commercials for some food i imagine it as a veggie meal instead of as meat and have to stop and remind myself that NO its not for me.
today at the K. Derby yet another reason came about. just a couple hours ago they had the annual running and the 2nd place horse eight belles right after coming in collapsed on the track with both of her front legs broken. she was euthanized on the track minutes later...WHY i ask you. i love gambling...absolutely love poker, however i cant imagine going to a race track again and betting (the last time was about 6 years ago and it was more in remembrance of dad than the betting itself). there are millions of ways to gamble..hell you can play flip a coin, how many jellybeans are in the cup, or even lets see who can say a toungetwister the fastest *btw..its always the lesbian...we're pretty handy with the tounges*. there is no need to involve poor animals pushed to the brink for our own amusement. did NONE of the K Derby idiots remember last year and the barbaro debacle??
so sad...it makes me want to cry
